Im repainting my TII, inside and out, because I cant stand the red. The paint job will look factory. But I plan on selling/trading this car shortly, so resale value is one of my top concerns. What color do you think would have the best resale value, and be the quickest to sell.
89 TII, black leather interior. |
WHat the hell is the point of respaying it a whole new color if you are gonna get rid of it.. Just have it sprayed REd again if it needs it.. this will make the value go up.. and since it is the original color it will look nice and not make buyers suspicious....it gives it that taken care of and restored feel..

But red seems to be the least desirable color for an FC. The car has to be painted, the paint is aweful. And I already have the interior out, and its prepped to have the whole car resprayed. I was going to keep the car, which is the whole reason Im changing the color, but plans changed. It would be as easy for me to respray the whole car now as it would be to do the outside in red again.
If I go with white or silver, Im probably goign to have the rims powdercoated in gunmetal. |
oh ok then.. I have always loved black FC's .. Specially S5's.. Silver would be nice too..
|
The new dark Mazdaspeed silver on the Protege.
|
I've always loved silver FC's and don't see many.
|
It's called "Resale Red." Red cars sell best. Keep the red.
|
I think it would look nice silver. Dont see too many silver fcs just black and red not that black and red dont look nice but i would like to see a silver. I also heard red makes the insurance go up
|
definitely black.
red would make the most sense if you are gonna sell the car. but if you are bent on changing the color i would at least spray it a factory color. black or white. my friend painted his S13 with a black metallic micha from the new protege.... it looks really nice. |
From what Ive seen, red is the least desirable color. Takes longer to sell, and doesnt sell for as much as other colors. This car wont be all-original anyways, so I dont think changing the color will actually drop the price.
Dark silvers and pewters dont look right on FC's. I havent seen one I liked yet. But thanks for the opinions. |
unless you're painting every square inch keep it red. red verts bring an extra $1000 over any other color, i dunno about the coupes though

You could always just paint it a different shade of red. This is what I plan on doing. Kandy apple red is the leader so far....
|
i'm still torn between painting mine the origonal color and going red with black wheels... i'd like that alot

At one point, I wanted to paint this car a deep crimson metallic. I love that color, but Ive only seen it on one FC, and didn't like it. But the pics were limited, and I may like it when done right. Im open to suggestions, especially if you have pics. |
I really like the look of dark red second gens. Not maroon or metallic, just a few shades darker than blaze.
|
I was really expecting white to do better...

mine is white.... i hate red.... LOL
i have owned two white FC's, one blue, one black, one silverish color SE black, blue, white are my fav's |
Maybe black is my destiny....of the 4 FC's I have owned, all have been S5's, and 3 of them have been black. The TII was the only non-black FC Ive had.
|
dark blue, midnight blue whatever. any dark shaded blue with white or gunmetal rims will look nice in my opinion. dark blue, white, and black interior, exterior isnt that hard to match up. so, do what you think is the best for you and you will be happy. who cares what other people think. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif by hte way black and red do increase the insurance rates of cares so a dark blue or anything close wont be as expensive. at least in the shitty commonwealth of va. good luck brother. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

it all depends on the area too. Hot climates prefer light colored cars with light interiors over say a black in Texas w/ black interior, whereas the black one will sell in a northern area a lot faster
|
i still like the red with gun metal/ black rims
|
I think the new RX-8 silver would look quite pissed off on a FC
