Well i live in pa, and dont want an excessivly loud car, so i need a high quality high-flow cat, to pass (visual inspection). I dont want to put out loads of money but want a decent product. Thanks in advance for the help.

Also the cat needs to be a direct fit of the stock (main) converter.

i recomend the Bonez Superflo, can't say how loud it is on its own but with my apexi N1's its pretty loud. but the difference before and after the cat is like night and day! RX-7store.net carries them, not sure who else does

I have been happy with the Bonez cat also.

Yeah get a Bonez Superflo. I replaced my pre-cats and main cat with there presilencer and main cat piece and have been very happy with it. It is louder than stock but it's a nice baritone note and sounds mean even with the stock cat-backs. And when you need new mufflers you can always get the RB cat-back exhaust system, which from what i've hear can actually lower the volume.

If you mean you are replacing "only" the main cat i would suggest spending the extra cash and getting the presilencer and main cat combined part because your pre-cats are probably shot at this point anyways. Unless you are eventually think you want to put an RB header on you car as well. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

i have a header and a 3" stainless steel cat-back. I just wanna replace the rediculously restrictive stock cat

Ok, well i'm guessing that it's a RB header, then you can also get the Mazdatrix gray area cat.

http://www.mazdatrix.com/e-gray.htm

It was designed with the RB header in mind and has an extended inlet pipe to to mate up the header to the y-pipe section like the silencer. I don't know how this one performs though. But it should bolt right in without an extra connecting pipe.

magnaflow aka carsound... They are inexpensive. Cats don't last on rx7 so you might as well get a cheap one and replace it when it dies.

I live in New Hope, PA (not too far from you at all) and I have an almost new Bonez Superflo system that I haven't been using. It is the downpipe which replaces the stock precats and it leads to their high flow cat (replacing the main cat).

Hit me up with a PM if you're interested. It has very little use and can be sold cheaper than retail.

the only problem with the mazdatrix grey area cats are that they are expensive. Just buy a cheaper one that fits any car and weld it on.
