i have a none turbo fc...am trying to go turbo.

of coarse am buying an aftermarket turbo manifold,

but am working on a budjet so i cant go and buy a new turbo.

my question is we'll a supra turbo fit to the fc turbo manifold?

anyone tried this b4 please give me a heads up!

thanx

annuerysm 10-07-2007 05:56 AM

why not use a FC turbo?

reyracerx 10-07-2007 07:11 PM

Well yes that would b my easiest bet...but idk tha specs on either fc nor supra turbo but just by looking at them tha supra turbo looks way bigger. That's 1 of my reasons. Second reason would b because its easier to find a turbo supra at tha junkyard than an rx7. Remember am working on a budget so tha junkyard is where am going for my parts.

GTU'd 10-08-2007 11:06 PM

Ok well here's your first problem:

You're on a tight budget and you want to turbo a N/A motor.

reyracerx 10-08-2007 11:27 PM

Bro its not a problem for me its a goal! A tight budget is better than no budget...

I found a turbo manifold for $120, $40 for a junkyard turbo mayb free with a hook up I have, $70 for a bov and wastegate convo ebay price and another $40 for lines and fittings. $270 lets say $300...that should b in my budget range no problem. I just wanted to know if tha supra turbo works because it looks bigger, I'd rather go bigger than smaller. If not then I'll just get tha turbo off tha ford probe or a 626 which have tha same turbo parts as the 7.

Leetheslacker 10-09-2007 11:31 AM

just because it looks bigger doesnt mean its better

$20 says you blow your car up if you try this.

reyracerx 10-09-2007 12:07 PM

Mayb its not mayb it is. That's why am looking to see if any1 knows tha specs. Like I said if its tha same I'll just get tha turbo from a ford probe or 626...

Why would I blow tha motor???

Tha turbos am planning to get are smaller than a t25 or t28. I probably just b boosting 5 pounds...

Got fuel?

reyracerx 10-09-2007 02:19 PM

I have 540 injectors my friend gave to me, universal fuel press regulator and vortex FMU I kept from my turbo set up I had on my civic back when....

I think that should give me enought fuel for tha small turbos am planning to get.

Leetheslacker 10-09-2007 02:34 PM

smaller then a t25?

are you daft?

id be surprised if that turbo made any power on a correct setup, let alone a ghetto halfass thing youre trying to pull.

thats so small its going to be so far out of its efficiency range you might as well just throw the turbo out the window while youre driving.

Dude! Have you been reading? I'm working on a budget.

Am trying to have fun with my car, do sumthing with it. I'm not trying to go big just yet. I would like to do sum porting to my engine before I go big. So a small turbo set up is fine for me right now.

Sumthing to have fun with!

Am not trying to go 10's on my first rotary motor bro...

Am not trying to go 10's on my first rotary motor bro...

its a tiny 4 cyl turbo

and rotaries put out a **** ton more exhaust and need a lot more air to do anything

i was referring to how bad youre gonna spin that turbo out of its efficiency range, the turbo might self destruct on you.

and overspinning it with all that hot air coming out of it is not going to agree with your motor.

itll probably build 5psi at low rpms and drop off completely up top.

im all about budget, im poor as **** too.

but, do you have the budget to rebuild your **** when your "budget" turbo setup blows your motor cause you half assed it?

ive been there.

i turboed my car with the stock turbo, safc2, wideband, mostly the right way

but halfassed a few things

and blew it up because of it.

these motors dont put up with ******* around.

do it right or dont do it at all.

If you love you RX7 don't do a half ass job. I have seen to many cars go to waste like that. After you blow your **** up with a low budget turbo kit. your car will end up in the junk yard because a rebuild is not a low budget thing.
