The water disapates the heat better than just air, but I don't think you would want to for the radiator, motors run more efficiently at a certain temp which is why motors have thermostats. To get them up to operating temp faster.

I never cared for water spray on my IC when I had my supra because I didn't care for water dripping from my car. I think it looks tacky.

I always poped my hood when I parked the car to remove the heatsoak.

I can't believe you didn't like using the water sprayer on you intercooler " because it looked tacky" WHAT?? it's like saying " I don't want a high performance exhaust system because they SOUND tacky" the main point should be that it is there for performance and anything that can improve it (i.e. cooler turbo temps via intercooler) should be taken full advantage of. What, are you afraid people might think you car is incontinent and needs some car diapers? j/k

Damn, I would **** on an an intercooler if I thought that it would increase performance.

It's not that the water sprayers look tacky it's the water dripping all over everywhere.

Just think of it as your own humble way of trying to keep the streets clean. Air conditioning in cars will drip condensed water vapor to drip too, just about everybodies car drips something. I would be proud to get out and see my intercooler (uhhh, if I had one) dripping- it would tell me that I have a racing performace feature that not everybody has. I say let it drip, man.
