Did you leave one of the ports open to atmosphere?

Have you tryed going on the HKS forum for help on that kit?

the hks forum is worthless, nothing gets answered there.

i had the port on the actuator arm side open for a while. its currently hooked up just behind the AFM so i can get a little vacuum on that side. the other side is hooked up to the turbo.

that might be the problem. Leave one open and hook up the other one to a vacu/boost source. You may have to use trial and error to know which port to leave open.

I have an HKS unit. Should be the nipple on the side, NOT the top. That's the one you connect the vacuum/boost source to. If it isn't opening up, it may be stuck on the inside. Take it apart and try to fix it!

i tried hooking the one on the bottom side of the thing to a pressure source and nothing happened with it, it would only open when i applied copious amounts of pressure on the top side.

i think im just going to take the stock one off of the old turbo and put it on there and use a boost controller for the rest.
