Anyone ever gotten anything decent out of them? As I recall they sucked on my 89 so I cut them out of the loup. What size are they like 4 inch?

89 Rag 02-08-2005 01:20 AM

I think they are smaller than that. Even after I upgraded the headrest speakers in my car, they were just too loud and obnoxious so I did away with them completely.

phinsup 02-08-2005 01:28 AM

yea I'm thinking there is no way to make them worthwhile.

Rob x-7 02-08-2005 06:05 AM

useless

miltstheman 02-08-2005 07:43 AM

I like em!

The only thing that sucks is I always have to turn them back up again after starting the car half the time.

Seppuku 02-08-2005 10:32 AM

I wired mine up to my aftermarket amp after replacing stock headunit then realized it wasnt worth it and took em out.

drunkin_idiot 02-08-2005 12:17 PM

^Thats what Ide do.

Shane.Trammell 02-08-2005 12:21 PM

i like em with the stock setup

jhammons01 02-08-2005 01:21 PM

I like the headrest speakers best of all. I hate having to turn them up all the time. Is there a fix??

Seppuku 02-08-2005 02:13 PM

Maybe bypass the switch and tap the wires in directly to the factory amp? Id look into it but all of that stuff is out of my car.

Shane.Trammell 02-08-2005 04:07 PM

find a way to use a knob for control instead of the switches.

**** can the entire set-up, you won't miss them at all.

j9fd3s 02-08-2005 09:57 PM

i played with them on my miata and the sound was better without. you could understand words at less volume with them though

toplessFC3Sman 02-08-2005 11:21 PM

I actually like them a lot... they're the reason i havent replaced my seats with something aftermarket (that and the seats are leather, albeit torn and worn leather). All I have is the stock stereo set-up, but when driving with the top down (at 100+ like most of my longer drives were), they really allow you to hear the music well. I also like the independant volume control so you can balance the sound. It does get a little annoying when you have to turn them up again every time you start the car, but thats a minor thing for me.

89 Rag 02-08-2005 11:43 PM

Oh yeah, that's important, i'm really concerned about the output level of my headrest speakers when I'm blasting down a public highway, at 100+ mph, in a convertible with no roll cage. It really is my main concern https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

toplessFC3Sman 02-09-2005 02:37 PM

its very important! at 100 KM/H! the 100 mph was a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point.
