Alright, on the LIM, I have two places for a vacuum hose and i can't figure out which hose goes where. First place is on the drivers side, in other words, underneath the UIM. It's right in the middle pointing up. The other one is on the passengers side of the LIM at the bottom, two pipes run into one, and a hose goes on it. Which hoses are which?
|
there are three hoses that come out of the front of your dynamic chamber...one larger, and two smaller
I think one of those smaller ones leads to the vacuum nipple under the UIM that you speak of...the larger one leads to the oil metering lines (splits to 4), and the other smaller hose is short, and goes straight down to a metal vacuum hose and I think the other goes to the split air pipe, leading from the main cat my memory isn't the best, so someone else better speak up... |
is this one you're talking about? in the lower left?
http://pengaru.com/~swivel/cars/rx-7...2/IMG_1487.JPG if so, that's the one that leads to the split air pipe, that comes off of the main cat |
Oh, I think I disconnected that one when i gutted my cat. That explains alot. There's one more i'm not sure about. I'm about to upload a picture...
|
One more thing while we're at it. If i remove the AC&CV, what do I do about the big hose running to it, and the wires connected to it?
|
I think you do like the picture above...block it off.

http://nailsmasher.hypermart.net/000_0355.JPG Sorry the picture's so big. I'm in a hurry. Alright, above the intakes on the manifold, between all the hoses right in the middle, you'll notice one more little spot for a vacuum hose. Any ideas on that one?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that is one of the three that lead to the front of the throttle body or dynamic
chamber, somewhere in that area. Let me see if I can find a better explanation... |
I'm at work, but I don't have much to do, so I'm gonna go run down to my car real quick and see.

that's your cruise control cable and hose...they lead to a black cylinder in the corner, right? if so, that's what it is
even if that were the hose you're thinking of, it would have to wrap all the way around the UIM, so that's not it. if those 3 hoses are accounted for, where does the middle one lead? (they are lined up vertically on the dynamic chamber right near the throttle body, right?) |
and kudos to you for replacing the oil metering line without breaking another...I couldn't do that https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png
|
Yup, dude, you were right. I thought it was accounted for, but last night a few of us were working on the car, and someone must've bumped it loose. One more thing. Where does that cruise control hose run to?
|
closest to the firewall, on the side of the LIM, or possibly on the lower UIM, there are 3 places for hoses, 2 of them are
already blocked off, one of which is angled upward the other 2 are pointing toward the firewall, and the middle one should not be capped->that's where I put mine I could be wrong on this, because I had 2 choices for this hose, and wasn't sure...the one I described just seemed to fit better |
and what was it that you were doing to take all this apart?
|
I was porting the intake and replacing my PD.
