i need to see some pics of a v-mounted 2nd gen.



mainly the mounting set up for the intercooler and radiator. and how you ran the water hoses.



any one have some pics of this to give me some ideas?

ive seen it done a few different ways.



simplest way was almost a T, the radiator was vertical, intercooler basically was horizontal, between the hood latch and radiator.



warrens got one at his shop, where the intercooler is mounted the same as #1. radiator was just leaned way forward. lower hose on this one was almost stock, upper just had some mad extension.

i mainly want to do this to keep the heat under the hood down. so if i have the radiator slanted down with the fan sucking the air down to the floor and away from the motor (no undertray there) instead of directly at the motor.



i wrapped the down pipe, turbo blanket on the turbo, and heat shield for the manifold. this just seems to be going along with keeping the air going into the motor as cool as possible. ill also have room for a CAI to the turbo if i do this. right now theres not much room...

whats your thought on an intercooled intake for NA. any noticable advantages since the air is not being heated by being forced from the turbo?

Just more for the NA motor to suck through..... not worth the trouble, and you would probably end up loosing power...

there is no way an intercooler can be colder than the ambient air, and since its a heat exchanger, its most likely going to be hotter. plus it adds restriction to the intake.



the reason any radiator works, is by having a temprature differential with the surrounding air. if you put a 250F radiator into 70F outside air, the outside air will suck the heat out, as the temps want to be closer to equal.

Unless you have a very small intercooler for your n/a intake so you can shoot it with C02 or something since it's temperature is damn cold out of the bottle....but really the intake charge is cooled internally with water injection or N02..
