I read in an old Rotary Review that using RESTORE was ok for the rotary, but I was wondering if anyone has used this before or has any input on it. I know my oil control rings are bad (putting 2 quarts of oil in a week is getting old), and was just wondering if anyone knew anything about using it.

you are on your own on this one!

I was thinking the same thing, but I dont want to use it w/o some input. The RR said it was ok to use being as I don't pre-mix and it would help , but some input would be helpful. Of course the Rotary Review I read was from 1990, but...I think its worth a shot.

EEEk! Two quarts a wEEEk?
I doubt it will improve your situation very much or for very long. I'd save the money and put it toward a rebuild. |

Well, its not a rebiuld it needs, believe it or not. I've got good compression on both rotors. It just burns a shitload of oil on startup; but not when its running. Just wondering if RESTORE could slow down the oil consumption, per se. Im just tired of having to put oil in it, and I keep losing oil-filler caps. Maybe its not the oil control rings.I'm just trying to put off a rebuild for atleast 10 more months until I buy a house.
Think it would hurt the oil injectors? |
Try it and tell us the results! You need to take the engine appart anyway to add new oil seals.
