I think i flooded my 7 trying to get it back in the garage because it wont start whats the fastest way to get it in (pushing is out of the question because its a steep hill) but i need to un flood it quick before my father gets home LOL TEENAGERS (BTW: THAT ******* CAR IS QUICK AS HELL)

MazdaEnthused 07-03-2003 04:31 PM

ok please help not many people on today i guess

1Revvin7 07-03-2003 04:32 PM

Fastest way: drive it in. Pull the egi fuse, crank it over a couple times, pull out spark plugs, dry them off, start car.

MazdaEnthused 07-03-2003 04:33 PM

egi fuse?

1Revvin7 07-03-2003 07:04 PM

under the hood, near the driver side shock tower, there is a fuse box...

'79rx7 07-03-2003 07:40 PM

that's the hard way, just pull the fuel pump relay under the dash by the gas pedal and hit the starter after a few seconds it will start, quickly plug it back in... done

MazdaEnthused 07-03-2003 11:36 PM

lol all i did was pull the egi fuse crank it over a few times put it back in and it started right up sooo easy

RX7Aggie 07-03-2003 11:48 PM

get a fuel pump kill switch, makes things much easier, especially in the event that a chick is in your car and you dont want to look like you got a POS, or if you're stuck in rainy weather and at a stop light.

MazdaEnthused 07-07-2003 02:56 PM

actually when i got the gas tank with in tank fuel pump it already came with one wired but i crossed them instead of dropin an on/off switch they guy had his wired in his rear compartment thing so i think thats what i'm gonna do

thats how I do it, you can wire a switch in there as well, snip

the blue wire, run it to a switch, then run the wire back to it.

I think the simplest way of doin' it is to run a switch straight from the EGI to inside the car. I mounted a switch on the right kicker panel (small piece just below the side of the radio). Ran 2 wires straight through a grommet in the firewall and splice directly to the EGI connection. That easy.

This is simpler then running a piece of wire about 4" long under the steering

column? No holes, no muss, no fuss. No wires strung about.

The whole thing takes about 5 minutes if that.

phinsup 07-08-2003 06:39 PM

Yea that is what I did with mine, but I made the wire a bit longer and ran it to a switch in the center console.

so if my car floods and i happen to have an on/off switch mounted in the car somewhere all i have ta do is turn it off crank it over a couple of times like i would if pulling the egi switch and turn it back on and start the car?

Yep.

MazdaEnthused 07-09-2003 07:14 PM

thats a deal maybe i will mount it somewhere in a cool spot so it looks like i got nos hidden lol and get one of the cool on/off switches cause its already spliced from the pump i just have to uncross it and drop my on/off switch on it

actually the car will start itself, then you flip the switch back on.

Yeah, if U go the "fuel pump" way, it will start...and die if U don't flip the switch back as soon as it starts. The "EGI" way is turning it over a few times, then flipping the switch and starting. It doesn't matter which way U do it....which ever U prefer.

UniqueTII 07-09-2003 11:12 PM

My fuel pump switch is hidden...it's a little extra theft prevention if I want it.

UniqueTII 07-09-2003 11:33 PM

LMAO...or maybe the whole car.

SeventyMach1 07-09-2003 11:55 PM

Haha https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif Yeah, U don't wanna let that puppy be showin'...or it'll be gone!

MazdaEnthused 07-10-2003 06:11 PM

i was thinking about mounting it in the rear compartments (cause the compartments are lockable also)
