If a rotary engine gets flooded, how do you clear it out? Would you not just crank it and push it out the exhaust and puke some wasted fuel out your tailpipes like a piston engine?

yeah, basically you cut fuel and crank it over

Alright, thanks. Time to go help Dramon.

FrestyleFC3S 02-09-2004 11:34 PM

you mean to tell me his engine was flooded the whole time and wasnt dirty injectors!? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

1971ChevelleSSV8 02-09-2004 11:40 PM

No no, this is a new problem. Or old. But it has nothing to do with the dirty injectors! Apparently those are clean now!

(He cleaned the electrical connectors, not actual injectors. Supposedly problem is fixed now.).

1968CamaroSS 02-09-2004 11:43 PM

When you said cleaned the eletrical connectors do you mean he dusted them?

FrestyleFC3S 02-09-2004 11:51 PM

woah....invasion of the chevy carb!

1971ChevelleSSV8 02-09-2004 11:53 PM

Well I'm just trying to help Dramon out. Pay no attenion to Camaro, his 550HP motor runs 97MPH trap speeds.

unless it is really really flooded.

Then pull the spark plugs, Pull egi fuse and watch fuel spray out.

Keep doing, add oil, reinstall plugs, reinstall EGI fuse and attempt to start it up.

That was not fun.

1971ChevelleSSV8 02-10-2004 12:14 AM

Cheers, I want to believe you, but if that's the case, it means Dramon was right for once.

1968CamaroSS 02-10-2004 12:17 AM

97 mph or not.. i still ran a 13.08 that run & just shows my pull off the line. What will ur 160 hp run? Oh thats right.. daddy wouldn't let u take it.

1971ChevelleSSV8 02-10-2004 12:19 AM

Now now, you never really ran a 13.08, and that would really be sad with a 97 trap speed in a '550 HP' motor.

I have more than 160 HP but I don't make huge claims that obviously aren't true.

hahahaha.... youre proud of a 550hp v8 that runs 13.08

wow

1968CamaroSS 02-10-2004 12:22 AM

ANYWAY, good trick j9 showed me, easier than all the fuse and plugs bs. just unplug the fuel pump then hold pedal to floor and crank, may start up and then die that means you have no more flood, plug back in and it will start right up. easy as pie and NEVER fails
