Oh mighty one, do you know if anyone has ever been able to reapply the chromium to the housings after it's wore off or is it just impossible? |

The cost of removing it all then levelling it and then reapplying the coat would be more than a new one, hence no reman for the housings. |
thanks i got video cam for fathers day better than nothing. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

I've heard that in Japan Mazda will resurface side housings and use that nitriding process on it again. |
Yeah i heard all the factory rebuilds have the side plates resurfaced and new housings. So why do people buy rebuilds from anyone else? I believe the factory rebuilds are also under $2k? Can this all be true????
|
you aren't guaranteed anything except new seals on a mazda rebuild
|
Damn, I knew it was too good to be true.

believe it or not we got good housing for 10$ shipping was 15$
|
the local mazda dealer parts guy told me something about the remans being chrome plated on the inside. guess you wouldnt know without taking it apart.
|
I think all the housings are chrome plated on the inside. One of the Junkyard housings I bought had apparently been overheated BAD! The chrome inside was separating from the rest of the housing. You could barely tell, but on one corner it was sticking out.
