What is the largest turbo you can fit in a second gen rx-7. don't worry about the mods that have to be done.

sidewinderx7 03-09-2003 02:31 PM

any turbo should fit if you have the time and money. Hell, i was wanting to put in a t88, but i went a little smaller.

t88 in a FC.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

t88 in a FC...

I have read that they re for fd's and TDO6SH for fc's.

BigTurbo74 03-09-2003 03:02 PM

bigger doesn't necesarilly mean better though.....but you knew that right?

any turbo can be put on any car. You just have to have a manifold that will fit and enough space.

Um, why did you attach that picture anyways? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

I know, but for what i was planning on doing it would be a good choice. But now that i think about it, a t88 would be way over kill... so there are other plans in the works.

mazdapower 03-10-2003 10:30 AM

what do you think is better, single turbo, or switching to twin turbo...in an fc

j9fd3s 03-10-2003 11:26 AM

single is better. the turbo you want depends on what you want to get out of it

mazdapower 03-10-2003 11:34 AM

mike, have you seen the video on roteary extreme for the HID's, in that video do you have any idea what turbo is i the car.

j9fd3s 03-10-2003 11:42 AM

he's got a t51 on that car.

You could likely fit a T-100 if you wanted too, it just might not work. Soul Assasin has (had? Is he still alive?) a T-51 on his FC. Pick your useage and horsepower goals first.

haha that wouldn't even spool, t-100....

TYSON 03-10-2003 04:22 PM

That was my point. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif Have you tried it? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

bradley87se 03-10-2003 08:21 PM

What a crappy picture, get that hoe off the hood and show off the real sex machine...the seven

Geoffman72 03-10-2003 11:44 PM

Umm...he doesnt even know that girl I'm pretty sure. And thats definitely not his car! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

mazdapower 03-11-2003 09:25 PM

hks sells it, i think it might actually be made by garrett. it should work with the greddy ic, you may have to make a pipe

mike

mazdapower 03-11-2003 10:25 PM

thanx....do they make a manifold for an 87 TII to go on a t-51 r, or is that what you were talkin' about.

Also is the TO4E a good kit... i'm looking for a lot of power with less lag...lol...like anyone....

which setup would you go with....is there to much trouble for what the t-51 r is worth

mac_dad6 03-11-2003 10:39 PM

is the to4b turbo a good choice for the second gen. i know a guy that will sell me the whole kit for 250 dollars. its in great shape he just doesn't want it

that intercooler would be too small for that turbo, unless you plan on running 15psi of less. That turbo is made to run around 30psi, that requires atleast a 3core if not 4...

mazdapower 03-12-2003 10:50 PM

how much horse do you think the 24v intercooler along with the to4b could put out. Also could you give me more info about the guy selling that kit....i'm really interested.
