Hey... I just got a car.. its turbo'd. It refuses to idle. and it just wont boost. any idea's?



Its got an Apexi boost controller hooked up, and the install job was horrendous. there are soooo many loose connections. SOOOOO many things missing. and to top it off, there are loose wires hanging EVERYWHERE in the engine compartment..



Is anyone near bellingham, Wa?

If your answer to the above question is "yes" then your first concern should be: Is this thing blown up? Check the compression.



Assuming the engine is okay, start looking for vacuum leaks.

I've already found at least five or six. One of thelines comeing off of the turbo wasnt even clamped and the hose was WAY too big for it. Its got an aftermarket boost controller, and it isnt wired correctly. I mean.. holy ****. This thing is sooooo haggard. I cant rev past 3700. Cause then it starts making positive boost and the fuel cuts.

if its that bad, a compression test, then pulling everything off and redoing it, would prolly be the best way.



if you're not comfortable having EVERYTHING apart, do it in stages, ie, remove the boost controller. redo the ic pipes. reinstall boost controller. etc etc

We did a compression test on it before I got it. The previous owner deleted everything he could off of the engine. I believe the only thing hooked up is an alternator.



And a standard TMiC for a TII. I'm thinking about just giving it back to the guy. I've got my own project to worry about. I've got 13 days to finish it so I can go down tot he raceway and play with it.
