ok so this is my first post and i cruised this place before registering and it seems there is alot of knowledgeable people on here who could help or bash me which i guess im willing to risk haha, im fairly new to rotary engines and im already hooked but my knowledge only goes so far and id really like to turbo my stock 13b but i dont know where to start (aside from the basics that you would need to turbo anything haha turbo, headers ect) what do i need to do to set my 13b up to turbo and maybe some tips or lists of good products and or companys and prices, im not looking to buy a turbo kit i want to build it myself. anyways any help is very much apreciated https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

Turbo II 09-12-2003 01:17 PM

i would do basic upgrades first and feel the power increase as you go along. it is fairly cheap to get a fast TII. just ask vosko about that https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif intake, exhaust, dp, turbo timer. then start working on suspension. after suspension, if you are not yet satisfied with ur new upgrades. start looking at fmics, new ecu, different injectors, than a turbo. i myself planned on going this route ending with a to4e. it wouldnt be as fast as other TII's that ive seen out there, but it would do me fine.

welcome aboard

id really like to turbo my stock 13b
Does this mean that your stock car is not a turbo model to begin with? That might lead to a different set of choices than mentioned above.

haha yes baldy youre right it is N/A sorry for the confusion TurboII haha i read it and was asking myself "why would i put a turbo timer on a N/A car?" anyways yes it is the non turbo 13b and id like to just get some ideas of what i would have to do differently to turbo a rotary

First thing you need...

DEEP Pockets

This will get you ready for what is in store. The N/A to turbo conversion is not an easy task, but since your willing to tackle it yourself the easiest way to do it would be to find a donor TII and start from there. Just throwing a turbo on any car is no easy task, but tossing a turbo on a non turbo rotary is a little tougher, due to the compression and fuel system.

Things you will need (minor vauge list)

TII engine

TII wiring harness

all manifolds (LIM, UIM w/ throttle body, turbo manifold)

Fuel pump

injectors

MAF sensor

Turbo ECU (gives you the timing and mapping to get it right)

If your not going for crazy numbers right away the rest of the drivetrain can wait, but if your going for a side port, 15 psi of boost, etc etc it starts to really climb in price.

Full 300-350hp converion is going to cost somewhere in the $4000-5000 range, and this is doing a lot of the work yourself.

Take whatever you have budgeted for the project, double it, then add 50% more and you should be close :P

so, you can use a N/A drivetrain (not LSD) with a T2 engine?
