well vosko doesnt think i have a t04e and advised me some of my vacuum lines may be fudged up, so i took some pics for everyone, but mainly vosko.

I have huge hi-res pics saved as wlel if anyone seems to want a bigger pic for some reason. here's a sample of one of them.

in the pics there's no rad shroud, intercooler, or intake system on the car.

i didn't say you don't have a T04E. i just said you don't have a HKS T04E turbo kit https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

please take a pic of the exhaust housing and manifold. i believe i was correct and that you have a hybrid turbo identical to what i used to have

j9fd3s 10-01-2003 02:37 PM

one of the hks kits bolts to the stock dp

does that have an internal or external wastegate. i think i can spy the wastegate actuator on the bottom of the turbo in the front. like i said.... probably same i thing i used to have

7mech 10-01-2003 03:11 PM

Teknics I'd have to agree with Vosko on this. It looks like you still have the stock turbine wheel and housing with a T04e compressor wheel and housing. Don't feel bad because it will still make some good numbers for you.

the wastegate actuator is on the bottom of the turbo.

here's a pic of everything behind the front pic:

i dont think it's a stock DP, the exhaust is rather large all the way through-out.

im running to go grab some new oil but ill be back in like 10 mins with some more pics from underneath.

unless that is a HKS sport turbo upgrade???? i have no idea... maybe it bolts up to the stock manifold.... ?

teknics 10-01-2003 03:36 PM

here's a pic of a stock turbo:

refresh, i linked wrong.

that compare pic is terrible in real life the HT18 is like 1/2 the size of the turbo in my car. whenever the next NERA meet is ill bring the stock turbo with me and we can look closer, id like to know personally https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png.

actuall just looked at a pic on gothamracing's website...i think i see the differences.

so what exactly would you call this turbo? and im guessing theres no way to switch to an external wastegate?

kevin.

teknics 10-01-2003 03:47 PM

oh and help me with how to route these vaccuum lines, where is the nipple that the pressure sensor should be connected to instead of t-d off from the turbo?

vosko 10-01-2003 06:29 PM

i remember seeing a pic of evil's setup before. i cheated heh

it goes under the BAC... right in the middle

1Revvin7 10-01-2003 06:41 PM

Yea thats just a hybrid, didn't you just buy this car??? I'd be PIST if the I was told that was a full to4E. You can still make some good numbers, but it won't last long at high psi, and there is so much exhaust backpressure/choking that its a bad idea to run it past 10psi.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif gives me something to spend my money on i guess...wish i had some of the green stuff lying around though.

so what kinda power numbers would you think i could make? I'll be going 720/1680, e6k and voskos old NPR FMIC if travisty keeps holding onto it for me https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png (i swear friday i SHOULD get paid)

then i guess once its running well like that ill save up for a port and some sick ass turbo or something.

also what do i call this turbo, mainly so i can adjust my sig and so if anyone asks i dont have to feel like im lying.

I'm not totally sure, but usually the 60-1 hybrid makes around 330rwhp near 17psi. The one you have is a step down. So maybe 280-300rwhp? But don't expect the turbo to last long running that much psi.
