Has anyone converted the s5 Turbo II motor to n/a. I plan on doing this with s5 rotors (9.7) What results have been seen? 4 port does make more power right?

and if your here to say "just keep it turbo" don't post.

i think with the right porting and intake/exhaust you'd be looking at around 200rwhp

sen2two 12-13-2005 12:38 PM

do you recomend using the stock TII harness with a SAFC or some piggy back? Or is the microtech worth the money?

also, I'll be using the TII lower intake manifiold with the 3rd gen upper intake manifold (supposedly up to 50% more flow) and 3rd gen throttle body. street port, nothing big. daily dirver / street machine.

50% more flow!!!

I dont think you want TII timing on an N/A. You should consider an EMS.

Ok....Sell the T2, buy an S5. You will make money on the trade.

Yes more flow in Turbo application since 3rd gen has a bigger plenum, shorter runners.

daily dirver / street machine

If you want to an N/A that is fine. Don't expect it to be a "Street Machine". Porting and exhaust work could bring the car to about 200 hp, however, that is average under today standards.

Average? Thats a bit more rwhp than what the TII comes with.

I say go for it, he must have something in mind of what he wants to do.

For 20 years ago, 200 hp was good. Under "today standarts" is average.

2006 Cicic si 190 hp

2006 Eclipse GTS 210 hp

2006 RSX Type S 210 hp

2005 Corolla XRS 170 hp

2006 Mustang 210 hp

2005 Rx-8 238 hp

All of these are in N/A form.

You can't compare a 200 hp N/A vs a 200 hp turbo. The turbo will have more acceleration everytime.

I am not saying that 200 hp on an old Rx is bad, but it isn't no "street Machine". My 91 Vert was pushing around 200 hp before I went turbo. I just got tired of getting beaten on the road.

That's an incredibly moot point. You can't compare it to new cars, unless the original post was "should I use the 4-port block, or buy a new car?" And I couldn't find "street machine" in the dictionary, totally subjective term.

i have a 58 triumph tr3, and its rated at 110hp, in a 2000lbs ish car. a 12a/13b would be a super easy bolt in, the stock engine mounts @ the front cover like the rotaries do. hell even a 3 rotor is still 2" shorter than the stock iron 4 cylinder. so potentially i can bolt in a 3 rotor triple the stock hp and make the car lighter too.

but

the stock suspension sucks, it has a hard time with 100hp....

the stock engine sounds neat

and even with 100hp i'm still passing people, just driving around......
