Well i am in the middle of a clutch change and can't seem to get the top two bolts off on the passanger side. My hands can't seem to fit or can't get enough torque to get the farthest one off. Any tips??? Please help because i need this clutch installed so i can go to the army recruiting center to sign papers.

I've done this twice recently on my n/a, and haven't had a problem with access to any of the bolts. I used a ratcheting box-end wrench when a socket and ratchet wouldn't fit. Be sure to try it from above the car and from below the car.

Got the bolts off but can't seem to get the tranny off. I think i need to pull it back more. I think it would have been better to take the entire motor out.

Make sure driveshaft is disconnected completely. It gets messy, and one hell of a chore!!! I should know, did it last night. Pain in the ass!!
Gotta make sure about if the clutch is pull or push type. I don't remember what it is honestly! |
its all about pulling it straight back then dropping it. And thanks for joining the army. We need more rx-7 soldiers.

Shifter out, crossmember unbolted, driveshaft off, speedometer cable and the few wire connectors, starter and cables, slave cylinder, grounds to the firewall; make sure you have all that off. It should slip to the rear and drop without a problem.

finally got her out. Benched pressed the bitch after pulling it back and out. All i have to say is never again unless i have a lift at my disposal.

I just put a jack under the drain bolt, it's pretty much it's balanced center. It doesn't require much muscle that way. That's how I installed it, too.

It aint that heavy. Bitches...
