Nemesis 11-07-2003 10:42 PM

Good luck!

vosko 11-07-2003 10:44 PM

what about the tips ?

j9fd3s 11-08-2003 12:58 PM

yah thats pretty good if its just the housing, its prolly bad anyways

mike

Why does everything look so BURNT/blackened in there? That housing looks like ass anyhow..

TyresmokinRx7 11-08-2003 03:07 PM

Good luck with your re-build. I see that the rotor housing has seen better days.

sidewinderx7 11-08-2003 03:23 PM

everything isnt burt, its just dirty... really really dirty.. lol.. i'll clean it all up and take pictures again. Yeah, i need a good housing. Anyone know where i can buy one thats cheaper than 200? I dont mind if its used, i just need a good one.

Fd3BOOST 11-08-2003 03:33 PM

You can go alot bigger than that port template you know.

DJ Blu 11-08-2003 10:24 PM

i'm still suprised the rotor is ok. in my engine, the rotor, and the grooves were both destroyed when my apex seals went.

lucky bastard.

sidewinderx7 11-08-2003 11:38 PM

i was only using this template as a reference for sizes. Had i know it was so utterly useless i wouldnt have spent the 80 bucks (with shipping) on these stupid pieces of ****. :( Im gonna go bigger, thats for sure https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR and my exhaust is going a little bigger also.

As for the engine. Thing is the apex seal didnt really like shatter or anything. A corner chipped off (small break) and that made the 1 gash. The rotor has a couple little scraps in it, but nothing bad. I will take pictures tomorrow when everything is done soaking in carb cleaner. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I have never seen irons so Black everywhere, I'm used to them being totally clean... I have a couple of housings from an n/a that are scracthless, let you have one for $40...

BigTurbo74 11-09-2003 02:02 AM

Just checked I have one without a scratch on it, no edges flaking and no cracking near the spark plug holes, https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png

Bitch.

sidewinderx7 11-09-2003 04:47 PM

Even fd ones will work, the only differnce between s4 and s5 housings is the egr passage. Just need to block it.

j9fd3s 11-09-2003 05:14 PM

s4 jdm housings (maybe s5 jdm too, never seen one) have the leading plugs a little lower

mike

sidewinderx7 11-10-2003 04:44 AM

why is that? that sounds retarded. I dont want 1 leading plug lower than the other... that would cause some issues....

they get a little more timing, but you prolly dont want to mix those up

mike
