I didnt say it was a 6.5" rim, it was a 16 x 7 s4 TII wheel, and it bulges a little, but its within the acceptable limits of the tire. My point was that 245's will clear the shock with a 5 mm spacer, so 225's will be just fine.

i squeezed a 275/35R17, or maybe 275/40R17 onto a 17x7.



you can get most tires on any width wheel....its just a matter of how long itll hold, normally if i actually put that combo on a car (275width on a 7" wide wheel) after the tire warms up, do some cornering, it should implode, sucking the bead inward and unsetting it, causing an abrupt stop https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png.

Thats what I heard, I dont think I want to try anything like what you are doing.

each tire has its own characteristics, ill be running toyos which should be fine because of the structure of their sidewall.



flimsy sidewall tires....aka michelin.... would definitely not like being on too wide of a wheel.

What do you think of the G-force Sports? Thats what Im gonna be using on mine. 215/50/15 in the front and I was thinking 225/55/15's in the rear, on '91 na 5 stars.

g-force is made by who? BFG? if so ill tell you one thing right away....they wont last many miles lol. BFG's are however a very nice tire, good grip on most models etc. I think theyre the BFG's that youre talking about but let me know.



Honestly ive seen good performance out of toyo's, i liked the T1S but now they changed to the T1R. Toyo's are a little high priced.



I also have heard good things about Federal's SS595 i think it is, something like that, the name is blank to me at the moment. But i think all of those are low profile/large rim tires.

Just to let people know, I'm going to go with 215 all around. It seems easier and will work for what im doing, racing. Unless, would wider rear tires give me a little bit of an advantage on an auto-x race?

Yeah they are BFG's, I dont really care how many miles I get out of them, I get them cheap enough it doesnt matter. I liked my Sumitomo HTZR II's I had on my GSX blades. Those are a bad ass tire.

autocross I would imagine it would be better to have even sizes all the way around, plus low profiles so that the car doesnt lean over the sidewall much. However porsches, z06's etc etc all have staggered tire sizes so who knows.



i think to make your speedo exact, if you had 205/55r16's you need 215/50R16's, a 50 is a decent sidewall, not tooo big not very small. then again i dont think they make 215/50's so youll either get a 215/55 or 215/45. id prefer a 45 over a 55 for autocross, at least i figure itd be better.
