Ok, my friend's 7 has a timing problem. I was over there when this happened but this is what I heard. A guy not a rotary guy, said that the car wouldn't idle because of the "distruibor" aka the CAS. He took it out and messed with it. Now the car won't start. We think that our idle problem was related to the LIM vaccum line the controls the fuel atomization at low rpms. Well we got that on but now the car won't start to see if that worked. The way I fixed the timing was as followed: I turned the motor to the left ( from front) mark on the pulley. Lined up the CAS marks and installed it. It just floods, no sounds of combustion. Should I align it with the right mark or what should I do it fix the timing. Thanks alot guys,

John

check this thread out. if you did all this, unplug the fuel pump in the hatch and crank it with gas pedal on the floor. this will fix the flooding and it should rev up and burn out all the extra gas because the timing is dead on. then plug the pump back in and you should be good.

There is a good write up on setting the timing in the FAQ section by Judge Ito. Do it exactly as he says and you will be good to go. Also before you start it up after setting the timing I would pull the plugs and clean them off since the car has been flooding.

Did you pop the cover off (two screws) and make sure it didn't move when you put the CAS back in???

The CAS tends to jump off a tooth if you just shove it back in cause of how the gear meshes.
