We just got done installing the engine in my friends car (N/A to TII), but it won't start because it's getting no spark. What would cause that? There is a yellow plug with a black surround near the passenger strut tower that doesn't have anything to plug into, and two black plugs near the ECU that have nowhere to go.

Basically, does anyone know what would stop it from sparking?

it everything s4, or s5 or is it a mix? i would double check to make sure its all plugged in

ok well the ignition system is very simple. the cas sends its signal to the ecu and that outputs to the coils. it could also be a fouled plug or something too

I pulled the wire off the coil and it didn't spark at all, even if I held it really close.

are you getting any spark from any of the plugs? your next step is to see if the coils are getting power, and a signal from the ecu.
