I'm having problems with the pressure plate I ordered from Racing Beat. I want to get someone else's opinion on this.

I did a TII drivetrain swap. S4 drivetrain into a S5 car and engine.

I called Racing Beat and talked to them about what pressure plate I needed. They said that the stock S4 and stock S5 pressure plates are the same so I ordered the stock S4 pressure plate. Now a week later it is slipping really really badly. I can't even move the car. The clutch is brand new as well.

I've taken it apart and the clutch is fine but it just doesn't seem to be applying enough pressure. Do I need to call Racing Beat and get a S5 pressure plate?

Opinions?

did you clean your PP and flywheel surfaces before installing them? how about rear main oil seal doing, or even the front main on the tranny?

it should still grab even if it has oil....

when the pedal is up, could you move the clutch fork? maybe its still applying a lil pressure?

The seals are fine. There is no oil or dirt on the surfaces. I can easily shift in and out of gear with the car running and not using the clutch pedal at all.

are you sure you tightened down the pressure plate all the way? and did you order an s4 or s5 clutch disc? they are different i believe. you may have worn all the teeth out of the clutch disc where as itll simply spin and do nothing.

The clutch I have works in S4 TII, S5 TII, FD, and Rx-8 use. It is the Racing Beat Sport/Strip HD Disc.

I'm fairly sure I got the pressure plate tightened down all the way.

It just seems weird that Racing Beat has two stock pressure plates. One for the S4 and one for the S5 and they have different parts numbers and different prices.

If they did indeed tell me the wrong thing do you think they are going to replace the parts? At no cost to me of course. I feel really cheated. I've been without my car for waaaaaaaaaaay to long. I miss it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png
