So my car runs without the tubing on the inlet part of the turbo, but for some reason the car will not rev past 4k without stalling with loud backfiring. Could the AFM be messed up halfway because the code will come on when I disconnect it, but will go off when I plug it back in. ALso I have just about everything blocked off and running premix. Will it only rev up to 4k until I drive it around on the road, because I just have the motor and tranny in the car right know?

it needs the afm to run

Houstonderk 12-16-2004 03:29 PM

I know that, but this one doesn't. I can have my hand over the commpressor housing and feel it sucking until it gets around 4ks then it just won't go any higher. But for some reason the cpu recognizes when I plug it in. I don't know what's going on?

Are the secondary injectors coming on? They should be kicking in around that rpm.

As a test, pull the TPS plug & see if that clears it up.

why are you trying to run it with no afm?

Houstonderk 12-17-2004 10:24 AM

I'me not trying to, it just does it. When I have it on, it just floats instead of messes up when I push on the flap.

How would I figure out if the secondaries come on? Just listen with a stethescope or what?

you could put a voltmeter on it, or a test light

So do these cars smoke alot when premixing, because I have noticed that it does not go away that fast.
