So in the past couple days my throttle body has begun to stick open at a certain point. I took it out and cleaned up the butterflies since they were pretty dirty. Well it appears it wasnt the dirt that was making it stick open a little, its that the top plate wont close all unless you push on it. It appears to be getting stock on the sides of the TB.

My question is, is it supposed to be open a little so that air will get through at idle? Or should it close completely. Also, has anyone had similar problems? chances are i'll end up filing down part of the butter fly so it doesnt hit the sides.. but i want to be sure before i go ahead and do it.

thats for the replies guys, i just sprayed some WD40 in and all around the shaft then hit it with compressed air. Fixed it right up. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

it was sticking at random spots.. and it would piss me off because i could be driving them let off the throttle... but still be going .. until i tapped the throttle then it would go back down. Stupid thing .. lol .. and i love wd40. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

i have some of that. Its a little more powerful than wd40 though, it will eat away at stuff that wd40 doesnt. It works wonders on loosening bolts!
