I went to start the car today, aside from having a dead battery(still...even after charging for a day/my gf is getting me a new one though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... )...my blocked off coolant lines that USED to run into the BAC are leaking..now my question is..will it hurt anything if I plumb the coolant line that comes from behind the thermostat to the one that goes on top of the rear housing(the one right below the TB)...I hope I'm explaining this good enough..I'll take pics if needs be. What do you all suggest....is it ok to cap them off completely? I might pull the hoses off and JB weld the outlet shut if it's safe to do so....

The BAC has no coolant lines
the Two your seeing that merge at the BAC have no function to it .. basically it's just a mounting spot. You could unscrew it (mine are seized but you could) and it'd just free dangle. |
Well, I removed the BAC during the whole conversion because I don't really need it. I know the coolant lines serve no use on the BAC, but I just wanted to be sure it won't hurt anything to just connect them anways..honestly, I'd rather JB weld the outlet on the thermo shut, and the outlet on the housing shut..but I'm not sure if coolant HAS to pass through there for some reason or another...

I'd guess you'd be fine and dandy running it like that. I don't recall any other coolant lines running into the TB so if the coolant flows from the rear rotor through the TB then on it's little jaunt around the BAC back into the Thermo elbow You should be able to run a direct line from the rear iron to that point (thermo elbow)... that make sense? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

yea...that's what i was thinkin...i know only a lil bit of coolant flows to the TB...(well, it used to)
I guess i'll buy some line tom.... thanks man. |
I just ran a line from the front nipple to the one on the back of the engine.
|
Same here. It runs from the front to the back under the manifold. Simple. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/happy.png

I just caped mine off with rubber caps
|
I capped mine off with rubber caps, but they popped off in mid traffic https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png . I then put the caps back on, with those screw-on ring clamps (they ain't comin off now!!!).

I'll get you some pixs, tap the coolant nipples on the block with a 3/8 x 27 npt and use a cap, exactly like the TB mod.
|
I drilled and tapped my rear iron and the water pump housing, installed barbed nipples and made a bypass hose
