Well, I plan on getting the engine in the car this weekend, but there's still a bunch left to do... since I usually end up forgetting everythign when it comes time to do it, I've made a todo list:
TODO This is the first time I've rebuilt an engine so any corrections or pointers on what I should do before starting .. any prep work or priming that should be done etc, I've put some things which I think I should do in my todo list but please any input will be appreciated, I know some of you have done this a number of times and will know what to look out for. thanks. |
Your list sounds good. I wasn't able to get mine to fire up the first time with the starter motor, so I had to push it. Just letting you know so if it doesn't start, it will :bigthumg:

I've read on some piston motor buildup sites that people have primed their oil system before first start, seemed like a good idea but I don't have an electric oil pump... anyone have any ideas on how to do this on a 13B w/stock oil pump? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

1. spin the oil pump with the front cover off 2. crank the engine over with no spark plugs, and no fuel until you see pressure mike |
