I changed it and a little bit of coolant comes out. Not alot but enough to not drive it. Is there a gasket or a sealant to use?

im pretty sure theres a gasket for it but sealant works fine too
|
i believe they stopped using that gasket and now it simply seals with the thermostat gasket itself.
i'd just use silicone/rtv, generally works fine. kevin. |
well I can't find a gasket for it anywhere so im going to use silcone/rtv like kevin said.
thanks guys! |
okay done. waiting over night for it to cure/dry then i'll start it up and see if it's still leaking.

you should be able to get the gasket at any auto parts store.
just go in and ask for the "thermostat gasket" its the rubber ring that goes around the thermostat itself. kevin. |

So would I be wrong to call that an "o" ring like I thought it was? Thanks man I already had that on and it still leaked... maybe it had a tare. I didn't inspect the ring much I was on lunch break. Started her up today and no more leaking. It's ready to roll out now. Peace. - Aaron - https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif |
