A 1991-1992 twin turbo RX7, I think there was only 1200 made. A 2nd gen body.

ILUVMY88CABRIO 04-22-2003 09:22 PM

Not that I know of. Maybe Mazda had a prototype that was twin turbo. I've seen twin turbo kits for FCs.

ALNY93R1 04-22-2003 09:39 PM

yeah, there's this guy that says he has a 10th AE with the same motor and turbos as the 3rd gen from the factory.

ILUVMY88CABRIO 04-22-2003 09:42 PM

Well an AE is a 1988, so it couldn't be a 91 - 92. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png Also, as far as I know mazda did not build any production rx7s in 92, they just sold the 91s as a 92.

amp 04-22-2003 10:15 PM

no 92s were produced..

he may be referring to twin scroll turbocharger..

which was the label placed for the turbo on series fives

ALNY93R1 04-22-2003 10:20 PM

cool now I can explain it to him, thanks guys https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Most likely referring to twin scroll.

Of course during development of the FD, Mazda made some prototype mules with FD drivetrain and major suspension components in FC clothing. Purely for development, research and feedback.

ILUVMY88CABRIO 04-22-2003 10:46 PM

Isn't the twin scroll only a S4 thing?

maybe he is just confused that it says TII on the side of the car. I had to educate a few of my friends that the II dosent mean twin turbo lol

Rob x-7 04-23-2003 08:00 PM

cant he just count how many turbos are under his hood?

Take a pic for christs sakes!

ILUVMY88CABRIO 04-23-2003 08:05 PM

On a stoct TII engine it is pretty hard to see the turbo. Especially if you have ABS too. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

Rob x-7 04-23-2003 08:09 PM

it would seem easy to see 2 turbos though as well as the plumbing

ILUVMY88CABRIO 04-23-2003 08:13 PM

You would think. The plumbing is clearly visible. It sounds like the guy is just a dumbass.

Rob x-7 04-23-2003 08:18 PM

he should give me his car if he cant count the turbos

kind of like a stupid tax
