Was the 91 available in the GTU and if so what was the list of options or standard equipment.
Thanks, Mitch |
I the GTU moniker was dropped for 91, it was just the 91 coupe, TII, and vert. I dont have the specifics, but I think they just consolidated all of the n/a coupe models, and offered everything that used to be in a specific package as an option.

correct they had coupe, turbo and vert for 91
the coupe has A, and B packages i'm a bit foggy but i think the A package is power windows, sunroof... B is like the GXL, its got the nicer seats, bigger brakes rear wipers etc etc optional on the B package is leather and CD or maybe the A package is like a gxl and leather/cd is b package? |
I bought a new '91 base car at the time. It had sunroof, pwr locks and windows, cloth int., no rear wiper. One of the things on the A pkg was luggage holddown straps, like a seatbelt in the hatch area, of all things. Thus, some of the differences were really superficial in that year.

the GTU was introduced in 1988. it was basically the replacement for the 86-87 sport model over the base model the 88 GTU has the following turbo seats, and mirrors the 5 lug brakes/wheels (i think the gxl ones, but not sure) 4 piston front calipers sunroof the aero kit, with the 88 spec wing in 89-90 the GTU is just the base model the 89-90 GTUS is like the 88 GTU, except it has no sunroof, LSD, turbo wheels, a shorter 5th gear, 4.3 rear vs the 4.1 |
