OK I'm thinking my BAC valve is somehow causing the vaccume leak that has been plauging my car for the better part of forever now. I'd like to remove it for the temporary to see if that's the problem before I go to a junk yard or EBAY or hit one of you guys up to sell me one.

Anything I need to know about pulling it off? I'm going to fabricate a plate for it and all, then plug up the water hoses. If that works then on to a new BAC valve. If not, well I'll keep looking.

And looking. And looking. And...

:lachuh:

As long as you cover the hole and plug everything up you should be ok.

Since it's a temporary solution, you could just plug up the vacuum hose, put a plate on the hole and leave the water hoses connected on the BAC valve since the water is just flowing through the valve. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...lookaround.gif

Made plate. Put silicone on plate. Bolted plate up (broke part of the stud, but there's enough there to attach things).

Left BAC valve plugged in.

The car started instantly, which is not normal. I felt happy.

Car sputters, died.

Car no start! Checked ignition components, things looked good. Still feels sorta like no spark. Timing light hardly works with the car.

It's...not...running.

I'm starting to get rather put out by all this *sighs*. All I want is my 2nd gen to run!

When you say that you left the BAC valve plugged in, you mean only the 2 water hoses, you did unplug the air hose and plugged the end, right? If so, then you just got a new problem. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...lookaround.gif

Yuppers plugged all that up.

Problem was flooding, pulled the plugs and the EGI fuse, turned it over a bunch, cleaned it up.

Now it starts and is stronger and faster to start then it was, but still has the leak.

In fact I can hear the thing roaring under the intake but I'm told by a few guys here that's a normal noise.

I've removed the EGR valve and put a block off plate on it but I'm thinking it may not be blocking it off enough to stop a leak. I've also replaced the hoses that go to the oil injection nozzels.

Kinda scratching my head here. There's only a limited number of places that can leak vaccum on the car I've removed the emissons gear and plugged all the hoses and the like.

I'm gonna plastikote the engine I swear! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Yup, I hear that roaring noise under the intake too and never found out where it comes from. I have a big loss of power at high rpm and I've always though a vacuum leak was the problem since compressions and everything else has been checked. ???

Does anyone know the vacuum pressure we should have at any place in the system? Since there are about 5 vacuum hoses coming from the TB and dynamic chamber, we should have 5 different pressure values, right? ???
