Alright so for my yellow monster I've been looking into coilovers. I'm leaning towards the Tein FLEX setup with the EDFC just for ease of use. Yes i will be having the car professionally corner balanced im not going to just use the coilovers to drop it, this car cost too much to cheap out on a big detail like proper corner balancing.



Are the Tein's good? I don't mind spending around $2000 on a setup, and i definitely prefer camber-adjustable pillowball mounts. I believe the tein are front only for the pillowball mounts but im not 100% positive.

Ive read good things about them, and the EDFC is great for the rears where you dont really have easy access to the top of the shocks (if theres still trim and **** inside anyway. send me a set and ill let you know ;-) ... yea, i wish

Yes they are good, I have them for my project and have driven LOTS of cars that have them. Many of which are auto cross junkies with some track days too. Sure you can get a better set up for the track/auto cross but with some minor adjusting with the EDFC you have a pretty good street ride.. I have seen some setups that have pillow mounts on front and rear and some that do not..I'd just call/email Tein usa or whoever your going to get them from to find out if they have a rear appication.

its a good setup, especially for the money. you can do better, if you're looking for more performance, you basically have to peice something together, and then, are you racing it? gonna notice that extra .1 of a second?

Ive got a set. Effin love em. You can set them up to do quite a bit. With the slicks on the car does some very cool things.

well see i dont want a drag specific thing, altho i intend to bring it to the strip somewhat regularly. I however do enjoy having fun in corners in some of the mountainy areas in new york and sussex county, no drifting, and not "super" serious autocrossing.



Basically a set that will make a noticeable difference in the corners, can handle trips down the drag strip (are these even good for drag?), and won't kill my kidneys on a regular street.



it however is NOT a DD so the kidney thing is surrenderable.



I was thinking of buying them from speedmachine, so i ordered an oil pedestal first to see how fast they ship https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png. i guess i'll ask them if the rears come with pillowball mounts or not.



And just some further info on the suspension setup in case it effects peoples opinion of the tein:

Front and rear adjustable sway bar endlinks

Racing beat sway bars

DTSS eliminators

On-Car Adjustable rear camber link

Lower Control Arm Bar (once i find one)

Triangulated Front Strut Tower Bar

Triangulated Rear Strut Tower Bar



thats about it, right now the car has tokico's and kyb's with the eibach springs...it's alright but not what i want after all the work ive put into the car. Plus as i said I will be having them properly/professionally corner balanced to get the car's feel perfect.



So far it seems that I've made a good choice, but I'll see what everyone else has to say, as youve all helped me get to the point i'm at right now anyway.



j9:: im not going to be professioanlly racing it but I would like to be able to drive the car as hard as it should be driven after all this work I've put into it. So will i be worried about that .1 of a second on like a circuit track? na probably not.

yah like i said tiens are nice cause they arent expensive, and it all comes in one box. they do a good job all around too, all of my s13/14/15 friends run em, and are happy with em.



for the fc the koni's and ground control, or dms's or something else is a better setup, but they are $$$, it doesnt come in one box, or at all, and in reality the cars using this stuff are na's looking for that last little bit of time on the track, you've got a turbo. plus these can be setup to be streetable, but with the stiffer springs people are moving too now, they arent.

If that is what you plan on using it for then Its a perfect setup for your car. Some of the guys I know that use them are hard core autoX guys and they love them. You will be happy with the level of preformance you get out of them..Dave shipps stuff out of speedmach. pretty quick, I have never had any problems with them.
