wondering the diff. of putting a turbo II into a n/a 87. haven't really been able to find a "guide" to let me know whats needed.
comments links help would be app, ty |
um there are several different ways to do the swap, which makes a guide kind complex
since the car was offered t2 and na, this swap can be a straight forward bolt in, or something totally nuts too for example, if you start with an s4 na, and find an s4 t2 engine/trans/driveshaft/rear end/ecu you basically have a stock s4 t2 some people take the swap time to totally hot rod the thing too.... |
well i already decided to do a front mount inter. conv. and am rebuilding the suspension from the ground up already. but i just cant seem to find a n/a shortblock to replace the one i have in there now, if it turns out to be blown. im getting ready to turn the engine by hand and check the noises. but as far as the swap goes, how about the wiring?
|
wiring depends! if you stay with s4 electronics, its plug n play, you use the NA harness with the t2 sensors and ecu.
|
nice! so its a really straitforward swap.from the sounds of it, fairly easy for couple of people to do on their own. any specific suggestions or advice for said swap?

**** if i know

I am in the middle of doing the swap myself , just remeber if your gona do it you got too keep all the parts the same , get s4 motor , tranny , drive shaft, rear end (lsd ) and axles. there are also other parts like boost censor, air flow meter, t2 hood , learn from me the best way too get 90% of the parts you will need is to get a front chop. They come with everything you need but the rear end and turbo drive shaft. don't try to get the parts one by one then you will be stuck like me ,looking for a ecu and a uncut wire harness and being force to pay 2 times what its worth
