I'm looking to make like 350 rwhp with a street port. I'm thinking like 15 psi or so of boost. What do you guys thinkwould be the best? Or is there a better turbo than the T04?

To4E/B either one would be able to make that power. Keep in mind those ebay deals are almost always too good to be true..

I don't know.Those T04B's seem to be fair priced.

whats wrogn with the ebay ones? Are they funked up or something? Stolen?

dr0x 09-29-2003 03:06 AM

A lot of the turbos on ebay are probably refurbished items. There is nothing really wrong with them... They were just probably built with a defect so they were repaired and sold at a lower cost.

You also need to spend another 100+ to have a Vband welded on usually, they always somehow forget to mention that... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png

Go to www.cheapturbo.com They are one of our sponsors, and seem to have reasonable prices.

SO the downpipe can be attached to the turbo, a good picture would really help explaining it..

rfreeman27 09-29-2003 08:45 PM

Yeah, i would love a pic, from what people have told me i have an understanding of what they do, but its hard to explain without a pic. Anybody got one?

I thought the downpipe attaches to the wastegate? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

There is a pic at the bottom of the V band, the downpipe also looks like this, then like a T clamp is wrapped around and tightened..

Vband

the T04E sport turbo upgrade looks like a really nice setup.

good power and a good price.

and it comes with everything you need.

check out some of the sponsors.

Turbo II 09-30-2003 01:23 PM

so wiat there is a to4e/r/b whats the differences between e,? and that would be the same as stock twins right?

Travisty 09-30-2003 01:36 PM

There is a T04S as well.

I believe that the main difference is the compressor wheel but the compressor housing might be different for each turbo as well.

Travisty 09-30-2003 01:43 PM

i just read that the housings can vary as well.

so there are a lot of options with the T04 Series

there is probably a thread about this somewhere.

or a more knowledgable person can chime in and explain a few things

Racer X 09-30-2003 03:24 PM

Just get a T04Z and call it a day. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

T04E's are old an obsolete IMHO. A to4b has a more agressive trim setup as far as i know. I'd still save up for the to4z...awesome turbo..and its boost response is almost instant
