Heres the deal, i have an 87 tII, as you can tell....I bought it wrecked, now i can either fix it or buy a n/a for 500 bucks with blown motor and do a motor swap... is the swap worse than fixing the old rx7 and getting it inspected and having the value dropped cuz its salvaged...or is it pretty straight forward?
|
If the NA is in good shape the swap might be the best option. If it is the one that is "under a tree" then maybe you should reconsider. If the car will be street driven, I'd go with the one which can be registered and insured. A few on my freinds have been through the nightmare of trying to get an "R" titled car back on the road.

No, this isnt the one under a tree, its in perfect condition. What all is involved besides the obvious wiring harness and such?
|
well since you have 2 complete cars its really easy, you just swap everything

is it insurance fraud to do this swap? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/blackeye.gif cuz i didn' think about that before i started  but then again im not gonna tell them its got all this other **** in it either.

its only fraud if you swap vin numbers, that being said its still an na rx7 to your insurance company, so in the even of an accident thats all they will pay you for

If someone else hits your car and totals it your only going to get book value for the original car. |

Your car isnt fully insured so just dont worry about it. Liability remains the same.

edit: just read the original post if youre doing na to turbo youll have to swap the TII rearend, driveshaft, and tranny and of course the engine. Youll also have to use its wiring harness or go to a stand alone(alot easier but cost a little) |
No, im putting my turbo motor from an 87 into a 92 n/a
|
yeah sorry about that im a little off today https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif
