so, when i got my car, i was like score- ya know, i got a sunroof'd car for the first time. i start playin with everything, pressin all the buttons i can find n ****. well, the sunroof was one of em. well, the motor works in the roof but, some jack ass hot glued it shut because they broke the tracks im pretty sure. i have got a good one in my GXL that i wanna trade into my T2. anyone ever changed these or installed one?

Are you sure its glued shut? I know that those sun roofs are notorious for being a POS. You have to push mine up with your hand. You can hear my motor when you push the button, but it still needs a helping hand when you try and push it back. Try that, otherwise the rails might be rusted? Why would anyone want to glue it shut?



BTW: No, I haven't taken it apart, but I will be doing it once I get my new motor.

bascially if you take the headliner out, the whole sunroof comes out in 1 assembly

Some of the bolts are for adjusting the roof so its flush. Make sure you unbolt the rite ones or youl be there all day unbolting the wrong bolts. After you install the "new" roof, you will need to use the adjuster bolts to align it right so the roof can open properly.



Its a pretty heavy piece, so have a friend around.

Oh yah, the headliner doesnt come off in one piece without removing the edgeing(?) around the opening of the roof. So if you wanna save the headliner, try to bust off the lid off from the old roof to unhook the headliner. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif
