I went out today and noticed a puddle under the car, thought it was from the rain last night. put my head under and noticed coolant dripping. The hoses are fine. I took the panel off and noticed coolant coming slowly from the fins. I guess this answers why the car would get a little warm after running hard. Vert will be down a while till i can get some money to fix this. Old radiator comes out tommorow. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

My N/A is magic... it does a vanishing coolant trick. No leaks anywhere, no smoke, but I have to add water about every two weeks. I guess I have the inexpensive version of water injection! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Mine split, it wouldn't leak when sitting (no pressure, line is high in the system), but when getting hot, it would spray a fine mist on to the top of the block, where it immediately vaporized. So, I had no dripping, no visible marks, just coolant missing, and sometimes a wierd gurgle/sizzle after driving hard...but it sounded like it came from the TB itself. |
I haven't, but I will now. Thanks!

put in some stop leak

narowed the leak down a little more with help from J9 its from the seam on the top tank. Im not gonna do any cheap fixes i'd rather just get something new and better.

Local shops here couldnt fix the radiator on the 88 vert, the one I sold.
Something about how the tanks were a little different on those and they couldnt be fixed. They can fix plastic tank radiators, just had no luck with mine. I got a lifetime guranteed metal replacement radiator for $135. There is no need to put anything more then a stock radiator in these cars. |

everybody who uses huge 4-5 row rads kill the motor

those thick radiators actually hinder air flow at higher speeds, especially when you still have A/C.
