i was hoping i learned something today, lol
I dont know, I believe if you can just remove it and cap it,maybe someone who has done it knows if there is something else. |
rob edit the title so it doesnt confuse someone else
dont know if I can edit the title?
yeah you can. You go to the moderarion option scroll down in the bottom of the topic and hit the edit topic one.
rob is right you can just pull the tank out and disconnect the tube, then cap it on the manifold.
I went another step and removed the injector on the manifold, then had the holes filled by the welder. http://www.pengaru.com/~swivel/cars/...2/IMG_2040.JPG |
where aare the bolots that hold it in at?
if I remember correctly the tank is able to slide off of it's bracket, but you might have to remove the charcoal canister first before it can slide forward off the thing. Then the bracket is bolted to the firewall.... but this is from memory I'm not sure it's right. I do remember it being pretty straighforward though, just get a flashlight and look around it, I believe the bracket locks into it on the bottom in two grooves.
ok thanks

Strange i went out and tryed to slide it off but it wouldnt budge maybe i need to try harder. I wasnt really pushing hard becuse i didnt want to break it.
I'm pretty sure it pulls off towards the front of the car, might be tough to budge. Like I said you might have to pull the charcoal canister up and out of the way before you have enough space. There might be some kindof lip or something it locks into that I don't remember, a mirror and flash light would probably help you see what is going on under the tank, the bracket slides into the bottom of the tank and locks in somehow.
Other wise if you have a racheting wrench you can probably fit it between the tank and the bracket on the firewall to get the 10mm bolts that are used on the bracket off. |
i got the charcoal canister out of the way already i tryed using a rachet and couldnt get it in by the bolt. Ill just go pull some more.
well i got the bolt off but it doesnt make much difference. I cant pull it forward the wiring harness is in the way.
Heres that page from the manual for you.
yeah i checked the fsm unfortunately it doesnt say anything on how it's removed/installed. I think I threw mine away already so I don't have it around to check out. lemme check if seva has his still.
i got it off finally it was stuck pretty damn good ended up bending the bracket pulling on it so hard. it does come off to the front though. And the wiring harness is in the way too i had to cut the clip off that holds it and pull it back and secure it out of the way. My tank was coroded really bad the lines seals on the sides and top and wire connection. I had to fixs the cruise control too aparently the wires had been rubbing the fender and it had worn down to bare wire.
bravo! I was pretty sure it came off that way https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
