I just installed a motor in a 91 N/A. It will only fire for a seconf and then stops. I checked the intake and the plug was connected, so I checked to see if it was getting fuel. I know the pump is working and going through the filter, but it will not stay running. It had some bad gas in it, so I am wondering if the fuel injectors could be plugged. Anyone run into and issue like this, or have any ideas?

Check for a big vacuum leak on the intake pipe.

so does it actually run or just make a sound like its running for a second?

you need 3 things - fuel, ignition, and compression.

if you have all three then you start focusing at vacuum/intake leaks, loose/misplaced wires bla bla bla.

also check your timing, very important.

It actually starts, but only for a second and then it dies. I replaced all of the vacuum lines and checked them for leaks again. I am getting fuel up into the rats nest, but I still need to check the pressure. The timing is good. Compression is good. I have checked for every loose wire possible, and then added an additional ground on. I am going to check the fuel pressure and then check the injectors.

yea my next step would be hecking the fuel pressure.

you do have a strong spark right? stock coils? oh and make sure you dont have the leading and trailing wires messed up, itll cause similar symptoms. remember trailing is on top.

Have you checked to see if AFM is working properly?

OK, I pulled the fuel pump back out because a friend that was helping me said he did not put back in a little white spacer. Anyone know where this spacer fits? Does it go between the pump and the tube going to the engine or before that? It is a small white plastic washer. Any help would be appreciated.
