FC3Slider 08-27-2003 04:37 PM

front or rear? or both? if you have a rear one i would like to have one. fc3s_redsuns@yahoo.com

phinsup 08-27-2003 04:43 PM

It's the front, just follow the link to the store and purchase through the store, it will calculate shipping and what not.

It also has a full description of the product, but I will post it here:

By tying in the upper suspension points at the shock towers, the strength and rigidity of the chassis increases while the overall handling performance of the vehicle improves. Ractive Type-8 Strut Bars are constructed from tubular 6061 T-6 aircraft aluminum, which has a high stiffness to weight ratio. Tighter fitting tolerances are possible due to a more compact design, which allows greater clearances from engine components.

FrestyleFC3S 08-27-2003 08:58 PM

theres generic ones on ebay for like every car out there...im sure uve seen it if u search for RX7 theres like 50 hits on STRUT BAR...its got a yellow background

generic ebay oens im talking about...no name brand

pinfield357 08-27-2003 10:10 PM

as im sure you know but im gonna say neways ebay IS NOT A STORE your not buying from ebay your bidding on things that random ppl have for sale https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

if you want to know a name brand of some thing email the seller the question

most of those however i will say are junk

FrestyleFC3S 08-27-2003 10:14 PM

dude....no....of course i know ebay isnt a store....but there are things you see on ebay everytime you search

thers the generic ebay filter and afm adapter for 17.99 that i can find any day same description pic everything....the same fuel mod for 2.50 .... the same strut bars for 17.99....if you dont believe me go search ebay for rx7

now count up how many of each of the same add you see

these are the generic ebay items you always see

look...count how many of the same no name brand strut bars there are...same description, same price, same picture, same seller... = GENERIC

generic filters

pinfield357 08-27-2003 10:18 PM

yes i understand what you are saying

You should buy the one off ebay, you never get screwed on ebay, it's the only place to shop https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

OMG how the **** is neone supposed to know what the Ebay one is like

you ever wonder y thy are alwyas for sale?

cause the cost about 5 cents to make and are junk

but like i said earlier some times you will find a nice one

hows this if it doesnt have a name brand dont buy it if it has a name brand that

A: is known to makes junk

B: has never been heard of before by neone but the seller

THEN DONT BUY IT

FrestyleFC3S 08-27-2003 10:35 PM

what about ractive then?

phinsup 08-27-2003 10:39 PM

I posted ALL of the info regarding the Ractive one in a previous post as well as the fact that you could follow the link in the original post for details. I'll repost them for you:

I have no idea what the ebay one is like, I have no way of commenting on it as I have never seen or installed it. I have this exact brace on my car, it is a good product, it is easy to install. I don't know what else you want.

I don't really know what more info you want then what I have already given you, if that is the way you feel so be it.

FrestyleFC3S 08-27-2003 10:41 PM

scott i was kidding around with you buddy ...

no i was just wondering how ractive is...cause most of the ractive sutff i have seen/own is ****

Nemesis 08-28-2003 03:24 AM

I have the eBay one. It was shipped quickly and works just fine.

I've purchased a number of items from the nopistons store and have been very happy.

The choice is yours, they end up coming out at about the same price.

attomica 08-28-2003 01:16 PM

While they may perform similarly, I think the Ractive one is a better product. The mounting plates are much more robust and have some real thickness. The generic eBay ones have thinner plates that are just stamped. The welding on the Ractive bar for the uprights is much better too.

Just my opinion, but I've dealt with both units.

phinsup 08-28-2003 01:32 PM

Well there you go, there is someone that has seen both.

Thanks for the input attomica.

phinsup 09-23-2003 05:40 PM

I got about 9 of these in today, so if you wanted one last time and missed out, order from the store, they are on sale $44.99

Thanks

avoid 09-23-2003 06:50 PM

I recently got front and rear tower braces and my dad bought some mugen braces for his accord and the build quality is way on his but they do they same thing, But my car handels way better than his and he has full tein coilover's and mugen sways rims good tires (proxes) and im on stock rims stock blown suspension and kumho's so you be the judge

winger 09-24-2003 11:23 AM

im the 1st one to have bought one.....ITS GOOD ****!

and no its not the ebay one

phinsup 09-24-2003 01:36 PM

Yea I got a bunch of bites last time, but no one actually ordered, oh well sold the 2, now I just need to sell this round.

I cannot tell from the pics, does the main tube have fixed ends, or does it have TRE/heim joints for lateral length adjustments? I'm not talking about the spherical eye ends where it connects to the mounts, I'm talking about just inboard of that.

phinsup 09-24-2003 01:42 PM

The bar is threaded on both ends. It's adjustable in length, if that makes sense.

Pazuzu 09-24-2003 01:44 PM

Yup, exactly what I needed to know.

phinsup 09-25-2003 10:53 AM

Cool! I still have a couple left, only polished.

DriftSeshRx7 09-25-2003 10:27 PM

ok this may be https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683621.gif but i was wondering if any of u can get the torque/strut bar. i no a guy who made one that is nice and all i have heard is good things about them. i heard the torque brace is incredible.

DriftSeshRx7 09-25-2003 10:31 PM

by the way i do have a ractive front strut bar with some custom mounts because the bar was off my friends car that had only a 3 bolt mount so i fabricated a new plate and welded and drilled it all out to fit

it is a little heavier than normal but it does work

phinsup 09-25-2003 11:00 PM
