I was looking at getting strut tower bars for my '86 Base Rx7 and i had a few questions. They do help. The aluminum will do just fine.

You will notice a big dif in front end rigidness...i like mine a lot...its a GREX aluminum...

I used that one in my car, and it made the car more stable in the front. It's worth the money, but don't bother with the one with the engine torque brace.

Not sure, but I would only want one that goes from the struts to the firewall, not one of those universal fit ones that are strut only.
