I'm putting my car away until next summer. What Should I do to prepare it for the long stay? What should I do while it's sitting in the garage?

the best thing to do is change the oil before you put it away, also make sure you have over 3/4 of a gas tank and buy some stabil additive and add it to your gas tank. make sure you unplug the battery or even remove it and clean the posts before you put it back it. Some people lift the car off the ground for suspension and tires but last winter i left it on the ground and it was fine. Last but not least invest in a car cover even if it is in a garage, it will keep a lot of dust and dirt off the car and will be good on the paint. also you may want to put some covers over your exhausts so rodents don't crawl into it.

Yea, I'm about to move in my new house.. and I'll be storing the FD.. maybe even a TII if I ever get one.. luckily there's some shelter for it, but I'm also going to use my car cover.

You guys should send your cars to me in Texas. Winter is the best time to drive them here. I'll make sure they stay well broken in. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

What is the purpose of having a full tank of gas? There is NO gas in my tank. Should I fill it up first?
|
you can get condensation in the gas tank = rust. full tank is best.
change all the fluids and maybe if you have the energy put a little oil in the chambers of the motor mike |
gas stabilizer is a must... gas can turn to something almost like a varnish if u don't treat it before u put ur car away.
