I have bought a new sterio since my old one got ripped off. I have the mazda kit to connect directly to the stock plugs used by the original tape deck. My question is which is the ground?
I am wondering about to plugs, one is an antenna plug, another looks like an antenna plug. The one plug was plugged into my old radio but the other Im not sure, Is this the ground wire? I think my question is, did the stock stereo ground wire look like an antenna wire that plugged into a wire protruding from the stock unit? |
go to fc3s.org, get the pdfs for the chassis electrical (might as well get the whole manual while you're there)
ground is usually black |
The stock radio had 2 antennas one on the front windsheild and then the power antenna in the back. So no its not a ground. The wire for the antena is in the 3 prong connector along with switched power and ilumination. Im not sure where the ground wire is in the stock harness but it wouldnt be hard to just run your own.

I couldnt find a ground on mine. Just run a wire to one of the mounting screws. I think the lower ones go into the metal and the upper ones dont. Might be the other way round though.
