Alright so awhile back I had to replace my ecu cause the inside of my car got flooded. I replaced the ecu, my battery and my 80amp main fuse cause I think it blew when I went to start the car. I just hooked everything up and I get some power, my headlights turn on, my interior lights work, my cd player and sunroof don’t work and other little things have no power. When I turn the key to ON position all I hear is a buzzing noise from somewhere around the engine. When I turn the engine, it doesn’t turn and all I hear is a snap and I lose all power. Anybody have any ideas? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

Well if your car was flodded it could be a short anywhere in your system. Someone who knows how to use a DMM and has alot of time should be able to figure it out. This just sounds to vague to be solved over the net.

Yea you could have some serious electrical issues, I'd check and make sure all of your grounds are hooked up and the battery terminals are tight.

yea so my negitive battery terminal wasn't grounded, i fixed that and now i have no more electrical problems, but the engine still doesnt turn over. I think my starter is shot from turning the engine so much before i even replaced the ecu. What would be the best way to test my starter?

Just remove it from the car and have it bench tested at your local parts house, it's pretty easy to remove.

yea, ill bring it to school and test it

I have a feeling my starter solenoid is bad from all the stress that has been on it, but the symptoms are a little strange. I’m not getting a clicking noise when the ignition is turned to the start position. I’m getting a buzzing noise when the ignition is turned to the ON position and it sounds like its coming from the starter. I have no idea what that could be a symptom of, but I don’t want to take the starter out for no reason. I go to school for automotive technology, I know how to use a DMM i just don’t have too much outside of class experience using it, but I think that’s going to change. I’m going to start asking my teachers what they think, most likely im going to take the starter to class and bench test it there. All my grounds are good, if anybody has any thoughts let them air. Thanks for all the help, im looking at this as a learning experience

I would say that starter or the connections going to it is the culprit https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

I just checked the resistance and got about 11.4 oms, does anybody know why my BACV is buzzing maybe it crapped out? I know its this cause i unpluged it and the buzzing stopped. Any ideas

thats the correct resistance, it could be stuck. try cleaning it with contact cleaner.
