Alright, we took two bolts out of my starter, top and bottom, and the bottom bolt just goes back in and spins. Is there a nut holding the bottom bolt? There's a rubber piece below it. Does that come out? And if so, is the nut up above it?
yes there s/b a nut on the lower starter bolt, i remember a nut on one of ther start bolts, the bolt goes through the start and a part of the engine into a nut.
But is the nut on the outside of everything where you can see it or inside a housing?
it's outside.. like say right by the rear rotor leading plug area I believe...
*edit* it goes through starter/bellhousing/rear iron/ |
That's the top bolt though. The bottom bolt is much too short to go all the way through, unless the owner before me really screwed with something https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif , but it sounds like both of you are describing the top bolt.

its not that important. just put some glue in there. heheh
We're thinking that might be what the last owner did. JB Welded the damn thing in place.
see it worked for them

I said "we think" https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png We just want to make sure there's not a loose nut up in there, because that could cause some serious damage if there is. So does anybody know if there's a nut inside, right past the starter?

Mine has a nut.
