mAIN cONNECTOR TO THE INTERIOR HARNESS?

I'LL HAVE TO TAKE A PIC TO SHOW YOU

Is that under the driver side dash?

Another question: I see often that people put a cable from the +post of the battery to the alternator. Mine originally had the cable from the +post to the main fuse, then to the alternator, so that's the way I did it when I replaced my cables. Is that how it should be, or should it go straight to the alternator from the +post?

Is there a voltage regulator somewhere? Can it burn out and cause this problem, and is it replaceable?

voltage regulator is in the alternator. if its bad, it should either overcharge, or not charge at all

k, thanks. So I guess I'll check out the ignition switch next, whenever I get a new battery.

Banzai, got that pic yet? Or a part diagram?

make sure its not your main fuse under the hood, mine blew and totally didnt look blown until i popped off the plastic window and looked closely, it gives the look of a bad ignition switch so it can be deceiving.

kevin.

I'm positive it's not blown, it's not that old so it's not fogged-up looking, the metal strip is intact.

From the positive terminal, the cable goes to the main fuse. From the other end of the main fuse, a cable goes to the alternator, and there are 2 other cables from that end of the fuse. One heads towards the front of the car, the other down and to the rear. Where do these end up? I'm not great at deciphering wiring diagrams.

Got it to work! I started tracing and tugging wires again. The positive that goes from the + terminal to the main fuse had pullen out of the ring terminal, I didn't notice before because the electrical tape was holding it in place. So I re-crimped, soldering, hink-shrunk it, and got it all to work.

Man, it's been like 4 months since I've driven it (due to the clutch, etc.). Sure is nice.

i had something like that happen on my tr3, its prolly due to happen again, but i'm prepared to never start it! hah!
