Hello everyone. Weather shows that spring is in the air. Man does it feel good to shed some long sleeve layers.



After working on getting the engine into the car and getting the motor to run (with a whole lot of needed help from my friends ) things were looking good. I would start the car up and let it idle for a while in my drive way letting the engine break in. I would Start it up in my garage and put the car into reverse and get the car out of the garage and let it idle outside. When I was ready to turn off the car I would bring it back into the garage. Each time I went to move the vehicle it made a regged scretching noise in the clutch area but it would still work. I figured it might need a little adjustment, but then one day the Transmission Got stuck in nuetral. I was able to start the car and let it run after that but I couldn't put it in to gear.



One day while the car was started and idleing The oil pressure gauge started beaping and I saw the pressure gauge go down. With out hesitation I turned the car off. Let it cool down and rechecked the oil level, coolant level, everything I could think of. The oil was now down about a 1/2 quart. So I anded the oil, and didn't go right ahead and start the car up again for a week and a half. Then I went to start the vehicle up and nothing happened. The engine isn't turning over, the starter doensn't in my mind seem to even be working. With the clutch fully depressed I go to turn the key and I hear one solid CLICK and nothing further. Not a series of clicks. but one click.



These three things are getting me fustrated. I'm trying to figure out why the oil pressure just droppped, not even going anywhere. I hope its nothing serious.

Battery, battery connections, battery cables, starter connections.



Did the clutch noise happen as you pressed the pedal down os as you released it?

THanks for the advice. I won't be able to ckeck anything till Saturday but I will check those areas.

The Clutch made the noise when the pedal was depressed.

I was wondering what the difference would be between the clutch making noise before and after being depressed.



I've been talking with a few guys about the ignition problem that I thought was a starter problem. There just one thing bothering me. That is the idea of my friend who owns a 94 twin turbo having a similar problem. . I haven't been around when he's had this problem. But the cars are like 8 years apart. A 19 year car I can see having the problems.After reading posts and seems this ignition problem is problem that a rex owner WILL see if you own the car long enough.



I would assume, but only assume that mazda would have come up with a posible solution to the ignition problems, with their year to year changes.
