OK, I played with my TB today, and disabled the thermowax (didn't remove it, just disabled it). The reason I didn't remove it was that I realized that the clip for the cruise control cable is mounted on the thermowax assembly. If you remove the assembly, that clip moves too close to the TB, and might affect the cruise cable (it'll want to slip off the half moon locator).
How have people who did a full thermowax removal/secondary butterfly removal deal with this? Just spacers, or does it turn out to be a non-issue, and the cable seats fine? Edit: NA S4 engine... |
Here's a link I think will help you out with the mod.

Haven't had a problem yet with the cruise control. It works great.

Just adjust the cable slack for the cruise control with the jam nut. It works fine.

Mine was left with some slack, but my cruise control doesn't work anyway, so I didn't address the situation.
maybe I should justs remove my cruise control https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif |
