I have a non turbo 89 RX-7 13b. I was told that the spark plugs are supose to look diffrenet, or have some sort of differnt collering on them. Mine are all the same is that bad or what? I also orderd some plug wires for the car and they where cheap like under 20 US $ is that bad too?
the plugs look different than "normal" piston engine plugs. $20 for a wire set is a good deal

no u just have 4 plugs, leading and trailing. dont get those confused when putting em in.
i run all 9s on my turbo....but for your NA i would run 7s and 9s
what doe that mean
it is the heat range of the plug. The higher the number, the "colder" the plug is. This allows it to run in hot engines without melting.
so in a stock T2 what should i run
i dont know t2's but i would run either 9's trailing, 7's leading, or 9's all around.
well how would each setup differ from the other
the 9's are a colder plug. If your engine runs hot (like a turbo) engine, the plug will be able to remove / handle the heat better. You will run at higher temps with the 7's because they simpally cannot extract / handle the heat the 9's will.
hope that helps |
just run 9s all around....its easier, slightly better, and you wont ever mix them up
has anyone run the racing 9's?
now what advantage would racing 9s be to me with a stock 7
nah i just run ngk 9's
well you have a T2 right?....if so read the thread man....freeman expalined it a whole lot and theres a ******* link...use ur brain this isnt the first time u asked a question about the obvious things that are right in front of you - mike |
