Hey guys,

well, my AFRs at WOT @ 12psi are around 11,3:1, which seems to be OK, but my sparkplugs told me something other... i enriched the map a little bit, i am getting around 11,2:1 AFR now but my plugs are looking like this:

its a streetport,

running royal purple 20w50 oil (dont know if it affects the combustion much)

do i have to go even richer, or is it ok?

maybe you could go a little richer, or maybe a colder leading plug?

How much time are on the plugs since the new retune? At one point or another #1 was too lean. I would get your injectors cleaned too, the mixture is off between them considerably. What is your ignition advance like?

hey 1revvin7,

well my ignition MAP wasnt advanced much. but i have been told my SPLIT was to low for a singleturbo application. i had 4° in whole vacuum area, and too aggressive split in high rpm (5-6°) now i am running 8° in vacuum and 10-12 in boost and high-rpm area.

My Timing is almost stock, so in fact, conservative.. i have advanced the timing for 6800-8000rpm, since the basemap was too retarded for this area.

i have cleaned all my plugs, took 2 9ers out of my old set and cleaned them also. Now i am running 4x 9ers. Platinum for Leading, and stock for trailing.

150miles on them after i cleaned them, very hard driving.. ill check them out tomorow. My Wideband tells me good AFR, a bit rich in some areas.

Those plugs are showing advanced timing or little beat lean mixture. Can be one or the other.

11.3:1 @ 12psi is pretty rich.

But one thing you have to remember. Did you let the car idle alot before removing plugs? Your idle mixture could be lean making your plugs look like that. Dosnt necessarily mean lean on boost.

well, now i got some BR9EIX plugs for leading, i pulled them after 100miles. the new BR9EIX are grey/white, but the trailing are carbon-black!

my idle AFR are between 11,4-11,6 right now, so i dont have a too lean mixture for idle https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.gif
